Policies at the Parsonage, East Orleans Cape Cod

The Policies below refer to Parson’s Cottage, Parson’s House and Guest Room bookings. Any specific policy notices for Guest Rooms only are in parenthesis and italics.

Standard policies

Occupancy: The Parson’s House can accept up to 16 guests, The Parson’s Cottage can accept up to 6 guests. Please do not exceed these numbers. (The guest rooms can only accept 2).

Rental Rates at our East Orleans Cape Cod homes: During July and August the rates are weekly Saturday to Saturday. Off season there is a three-night minimum. (Guest rooms have a two-night minimum).

Room Tax: Rental rates do not include Massachusetts Lodging Tax which is 11.7% and Cape & Islands Water Tax of 2.75%.

Extras: There is a $250 cleaning fee for the Parson’s Cottage, a $500 cleaning fee for The Parson’s House, and a $500 returnable security deposit due at the time of the booking. (There are no charges for guest room bookings).

Reservations / Deposits: A 30% deposit will be charged to your credit card when you click ‘Finish’ on your reservation. The balance will be charged 30 days before your scheduled arrival. For bookings made less than 30days before arrival the full amount will be charged at the time of the booking.

Payments: Payments may be made by cash, check, VENMO, Visa, MasterCard, Discover or American Express.

Cancellation Policy:

The Parsonage is a small local business and can be significantly impacted by cancellations.

If cancellation should be necessary, a refund of the deposit will be made if we receive notice 90 days (14 days for room guests) or more prior to arrival. A $500 administrative charge ($50 for guest rooms), is deducted from all refunds. For cancellations made less than 90 days(14 days for guest rooms) of your arrival, you will be responsible for the full reservation unless we are able to re-rent. Any early departures will be charged for the full booking price.

For the reasons above, we strongly suggest you purchase separate trip insurance as cancellations may be out of your control. We recognize there are many insurance companies to choose, however we have partnered with insuremytrip.com for cancellation coverage. Please go to their link for details. As an alternative certain credit cards will also cover last minute cancellations, so please check directly with them.

Minimum Stay: For the home rentals, during the summer July/August period we operate a seven-night Saturday to Saturday minimum stay. For the off-season shoulder months, we have a three-night minimum.

For the guest rooms we have a two-night minimum. On occasion, we will accept a one night booking with a supplemental $30 fee. Call for details.

Check-In and Check-Out: The check-in time is from 4pm. If you will be arriving after 6.00pm, please notify us in advance.

For the convenience of our guests, we support contactless express check-in. Three days before arrival you will receive an email welcome with details of the entry code.

Check-out time is 10am. Since there is a short period between check-out and check-in, we will be unable to accept late check out requests.

Parties: We have a strict policy of no parties or events.

Pets: A pet dog is accepted, there is an additional charge of $150.

Children and pets: We are happy to accept children or pets at our summer rental homes, (but we are unable to accept children or pets in the guest rooms)

No Smoking: Smoking or vaping is not allowed anywhere inside the property.

Gift Certificates: Gift Certificates will be charged the full amount at time of purchase.
